How CPA Pilot Works
One AI workspace. Ten built-in workflows. Everything a tax professional needs.
Start Free TrialOne App. Every Tax Workflow You Need.
CPA Pilot is a single AI workspace accessed at app.cpapilot.com. There is no setup, no integrations to configure, and no workflow to learn from scratch. You upload documents, ask questions, or choose a workflow — and the AI handles the rest.
Upload Documents
Drop in any tax-related file — prior-year returns, P&L statements, W-2s, 1099s, client emails. CPA Pilot reads them all and makes them available to every workflow in your session.
Choose a Workflow
Select from ten purpose-built tax workflows — each designed for a specific professional output. Or skip the workflow and ask a direct question. CPA Pilot adapts to how you work.

Sign in to app.cpapilot.com
Your account is ready the moment you sign up. No installation, no IT ticket, no configuration. Open a browser and go. CPA Pilot runs entirely in the cloud, so it works on any device — your office desktop, a laptop in a client meeting, or your home setup during late-night filing season runs.
Choose a workflow — or ask a question directly
If you know the output you need, pick one of the ten built-in workflows. If you have a quick research question or want to explore an idea, skip the workflow and ask directly. CPA Pilot is conversational — you can start broad and drill down, or go straight to a specific deliverable.
Upload any relevant documents
Attach a prior-year return, a P&L statement, a client email, a W-2 packet, or a brokerage statement. CPA Pilot reads and processes the documents so the AI output is grounded in the actual client data — not generic assumptions. You can upload multiple documents in a single session.
Review and use your AI-generated output
CPA Pilot delivers structured, professional output formatted for immediate use. Copy it into your workflow, send it to a client, add it to a workpaper, or refine it with a follow-up question. Every output is a starting point you control — not a black-box result you have to trust blindly.
How CPA Pilot Works — Common Questions
No integrations required. CPA Pilot works through document upload — you bring in files from your existing workflow (PDF exports, downloaded statements, email attachments) and the AI works with what you give it. There's no API to configure, no software plugin to install, and no connection to your existing tax prep software needed to get started.
CPA Pilot supports PDF files — which covers the vast majority of tax documents, returns, and financial statements that tax professionals work with. You can upload multiple PDFs in a single session. For spreadsheet data and other formats, exporting to PDF before upload is the current recommended approach.
CPA Pilot uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Documents uploaded to the platform are used only to generate responses within your session — they are not used to train AI models or shared with third parties. For firms with specific compliance requirements, contact us to discuss your situation.
Yes. CPA Pilot plans are message-based — each user at your firm can log in and use their own session. For high-volume firms, the CPA Pilot 150 and Unlimited plans provide 150+ daily messages and priority queue access. Start on any plan and upgrade anytime as your usage grows.
No. That's the core advantage of purpose-built workflows. Each workflow already knows what information it needs and how to structure the output — you just upload your documents and provide basic context. If you can fill out a short form and upload a PDF, you can use every feature in CPA Pilot on day one.
